Message from Our Chairman

I am delighted to welcome you to the new Canadian International School of Shenyang!

On behalf of our Board of Directors, I am very delighted to see that the Canadian International School of Shenyang has officially opened its doors in February 2018 to International students in Shenyang and Liaoning Province.


Our student body represents many nationalities from around the world, typically from diplomatic, and expatriate families living and working in Shenyang. Our boarding facilities also provide optimum flexibility for children from other cities in China and temporary accommodation support for parents who occasionally must travel to fulfil their employment responsibilities. 

CIS Shenyang has received excellent support from the Liaoning Provincial Government, the Canadian Government of New Brunswick and the Officials of the Shenyang Municipal Government. 

CIS Shenyang is accredited by the New Brunswick Department of Education in Canada. The Canadian Curriculum and High School Diploma transcript is recognized in English Speaking Countries around the world. 

In addition, CIS Shenyang has been approved as an International Baccalaureate (IBO) world school for Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Program from Kindergarten to Grade 12. 

As an educational institute, we take pride in offering this unique combination of IBO and Canadian curriculum and providing an international, university certified teaching team in a positive learning environment for our students. 

CIS Shenyang incorporates Smart board technology, Coding, Design Technology, and computer integration extensively in our teaching and learning activities. The technology gives the students and teachers the ability to interact simultaneously, thus facilitating and enhancing the learning process and knowledge base. CIS Shenyang has also implemented a 1 on 1 Computer program for Grade 2 to Grade 12 students thus making their learning more accessible and interactive. 

CIS Shenyang also provides ongoing professional development for teachers with the International Baccalaureate Organization and the New Brunswick Department of Education to ensure our teachers are continually updated on the best educational practices in the world! 

Our teachers continually revise and develop new Programs of Inquiry to meet the best academic goals. 

Our 3 partner schools, CIS Beijing, CIS Hefei and International School of Shenzhen-Nanshan offer the same curriculum as CIS Shenyang,  have continually seen graduating students admitted to top universities all around the world:  New York University, Boston University, Queen’s University and much more… Elementary and High School students from CIS Shenyang will also be enrolled in the International  Euclid Mathematics Contests and Computer Coding Contests, organized by the University of Waterloo, Canada. 

Our students, from Kindergarten to High School will have a solid educational foundation, and we are anxious to see our contribution to the city of Shenyang continue to grow!
