CISS Online Teaching Program Nurtures Students' Growth Without Suspension

Beginning in January, the epidemic has been raging in China, and international schools were facing the dilemma that foreign teachers were not able to return to school. CISS set up the anti-epidemic team in no time, and stayed at the school to protect and accompany all our foreign teachers who stayed in China for the Chinese New Year, to ensure their health and safety. As a result of this effort, CISS became the only international school in Shenyang where all foreign teachers from Kindergarten to Grade 12 have been ready on campus.

Although school was not able to reopen as usual, until February 5, foreign teachers at the school began online courses for students in the United States, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Canada and other countries. They nurtured the growth of students while overcoming the challenge of the sudden epidemic outbreak, meanwhile enabling CISS enjoy a higher reputation among all international schools. Currently, all the students of Grade 9 and DP have returned to school, and we are fully prepared for students to return to school in a stepwise manner. We are looking forward to meeting students back at the school once the epidemic passes!

There are two more pieces of good news for you.

One: CISS has made marvelous progress this year! On January 28, good news from CISS, after authorization by IBO for IB-DP in September and IB-PYP in November 2019, the school has passed again the strict examination of IBO, and in February received the IB-MYP Authorization qualification and as a result, CISS has become the 34th IB Contiuum World School in China  and the first IB Continuum World School in Liaoning Province. 

Recently, the school has also added a new DP, MYP English teacher and German language teacher from Munich. In the new semester, the faculty team of CISS is further expanded and the teaching strength is further improved.

The second piece of good news: All our foreign teachers at CISS will stay in China for the summer vacation to ensure they are all in China to start the new semester. When the epidemic is alleviated and students return to school, foreign teachers will provide 4 weeks of ECA including English, Math, and Yoga among others, and Chinese teachers will provide 2 weeks of ECA including Chinese, Dance and so forth! In total our students will receive an extra 6 weeks at CISS and along with the new students for semester of 2020–21 all free of charge.
