Launching Ceremony of the Second International ECA Club of Canadian International School of Shenyang (CISS)

New semester is coming, Canadian International School of Shenyang (CISS) ECA International Club provides students with more abundant ECA, including Spanish, English, soccer, chess, Chinese drama, yoga, dance, golf, Chinese paper cutting, table tennis, weaving, altogether 15 courses for students to choose from. CISS has always been advocating the school philosophy and IB learner profiles: Inquirers, Thinkers, Communicators, Risk-takers, Knowledgeable, Principled, Caring, Open-minded, Well-balanced and Reflective. To train students to become global citizens with a global vision and environmental awareness. CISS International ECA Club is also equipped with such purpose. CISS International ECA Club president and executive director of CISS, Madam Duan Yun A attended the launching ceremony, representing the chairman of the board Dr Francis Pang, and she said CISS International Club has provided 6 weeks of ECA for students free of charge during the summer holiday, which was widely recognized among the parents, at the same time we also appreciate the hard work of the faculty staff, in new semester there are more volunteers to join CISS International ECA Club, which will provide students with more various ECA to choose from, making students’ ECA life more colorful!

Golf Club. Golf training will take place in Shengjing Golf Course, which is the only 18-hole international standard forest golf course in Shenyang. It is close to the century-old forest of Qing Dynasty Fuling Tomb, surrounded by dense forests, undulating mountains, fresh air and quiet environment. We will set up golf ECA here to cultivate students' sports expertise, strengthen their bodies and promote their intellectual development.

Spanish Club. Are you looking forward to learning Spanish, with its flamenco, bullfighting and unique artistic atmosphere? So follow Dr. Francisco from Spain to get a taste of Spain.

English Speech Club. Do you still remember Ryan, the humorous and energetic English teacher during ECA? His English speech class is about to begin! He will guide the students to improve their core English literacy and develop their critical thinking ability.

Science Club. Science can enlighten children's wisdom. Ghazala, a teacher from CISB with 16 years of IB teaching experience, will take you to explore the mystery of science and lead you to explore and discover, so that we can discover science and understand science in our daily life.

Fun English Club. In Fun English Club, teachers from Kindergarten provide English improvement courses for kindergarten children, and lead the students to improve their interest in English learning and English level through games and picture books.

Drama Club. Ms. Jane's Drama Club guides students to appreciate classic and modern dramas, musicals and provides opportunities for students to participate in various drama performances and competitions. Life is like a drama, students will learn some life philosophy while learning drama.

Chess Club. "Playing chess is like performing a mathematical calculation," noted mathematician Gerd Harkey wrote in his paper Confessions of a Mathematician. Chess is a "smart person's game", which, in turn, can make the person playing it smarter. Harold, our math teacher, is also a good chess player. Learn from him quickly!

CISS Knitting Club. Karen teaches crocheting in person for knitting lovers, learn together, share works, knit together, and enjoy the happiness brought by this unique and quiet time.

Digital painting club. Lorraine will lead you to cultivate concentration with digital painting! Patience! Carefulness! Cultivate students' creativity and relieve the pressure of study!

Chinese Knot Culture Club introduces Chinese knot, a handicraft with Chinese characteristics, into CISS. Students can learn and inherit Chinese traditional culture through hands-on practice, so that they can both appreciate beauty and create beauty.

Guitar Club. Mr. Alfonso will lead the students to feel the artistic thinking of musicians. He will start teaching from the basic playing and singing, and provide the students who love guitar with the opportunity to learn and show themselves.

Football Club. Paulo, a soccer coach from Brazil with many years of experience in children's sports training, will provide more focused and professional training for students with sports expertise through CISS 's comprehensive and advanced sports facilities.

Yoga Club. Do you still remember the fun yoga class you had during the summer ECA? In the new semester, students will stretch every cell of the body, get close to nature and listen to their heart together with yoga teacher Angela.

Dance Club. Dance club provides excellent dance teaching for those who love dance, so that students have more opportunities to get in touch with dance, cultivate graceful posture since childhood, and provide more stage for students to show their elegance.

Table tennis club. Table tennis is a test of technology, strength, flexibility. It’s good for children to learn table tennis since it’s very good to improve the coordination of the body, reaction ability and agility in the process, gradually improve the concentration of students, protect the eyesight and prevent myopia! The other 14 ECA will be officially launched in the second week of school on September 7th. At the same time, CISS also hopes to discover and stimulate students' potential through ECA.
