Blue sky, autumn wind, golden leaves are everywhere. As autumn ends and winter begins, we welcome the annual International Week of Science and Peace. International Week of Science and Peace refers to the week of November 11 each year, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1988.During the week, member States will hold activities to promote the important role of science and technology in maintaining world peace and social development, and to work for a peaceful international environment.

CISS Peace Week commemorative activity began on November 9, with students making pinwheels. Each student constructed a pinwheel from a piece of paper or light cardboard, a drywall screw and a plastic straw. When they had completed their pinwheel, they began to decorate them with peace signs——pictures of doves of peace, olive branches or short messages about peace. CISS will make these pinwheels and other works of students into a special exhibition to further strengthen students' faith in cherishing peace and maintaining peace.

On November 11, PYP students prepared hand-made poppy brooches for all the teachers and students. Poppy is an important symbol of remembrance for many people throughout the world. The bright red color of the poppies remind people of the blood spilt during the war. Wreaths of poppies are laid in remembrance of the dead. We know that their sacrifice allows us to have the freedoms we enjoy today. They are our heroes and WE REMEMBER THEM.

On November 13, MYP students Yekai, Andy,Vincent, Ayyan and Lincoln made wonderful speeches to the students, they have processed and adapted the lyrics of a peace song Imagine, adding their own understanding of peace and hope, and wished a world without war, poverty, hunger, no prejudice or envy! Everyone can have a peaceful and happy life and have the opportunity to work hard for their bright future!

It is not deeper darkness that drives out darkness, but light;

It is not deeper hatred that dispels hatred, but love!

Students interpreted in their own way that world peace is not our imagination, but rather we need to work together, so that world peace will be around the corner.
