CISS Held Celebration Of IB Continuum World School Accreditation And New Year Event

On the evening of December 4, Canadian International School of Shenyang (CISS) held a grand celebration for being awarded as IB Continuum World School accreditation and New Year event.

Officials from Liaoning Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Liaoning Provincial Education Department, Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Education, Business Environment Development Bureau, Bureau of Civil Affairs and so on, representatives from the European Union Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong China Chamber of Commerce, American Chamber of Commerce, Liaoning Provincial China-Korea Friendship Association, HuiLand Real Estate, Shenyang Conrad Hotel, Jinzhong Outdoor Media and Coco&Ray jointly participated in the event.

Canadian International School of Shenyang (CISS) is the first international school established in northeast China by AKD International INC (AKD), an internationally renowned education group. CISS has made remarkable achievements two years after the establishment, passing through the International Baccalaureate Organization’s (IBO) several rounds of strict examinations, obtaining accreditations for IB-DP, IB-PYP and IB-MYP,  becoming an IB world school, which is the 34^th in China, the first continuum world school in Liaoning, further expanding the leading advantages among Shenyang and Liaoning with regard to international schools, establishing a good reputation among foreign nationals and foreign-funded institutions in Shenyang and Liaoning. Since the beginning of the new school year, the number of CISS students has doubled in spite of the general loss of students in other international schools in Shenyang.

Becoming a world school not only benefits its students, but also greatly improves the international education level in Liaoning province and offers children of foreigners in Shenyang a better choice of education. It has been widely recognized by provincial and municipal leaders, relevant departments and foreign-funded institutions. On the occasion of the celebration, President of European Union Chamber of Commerce in Shenyang, Mr. Harold Krumpfert congratulated on the event. In his speech, he said: A high level of international education is crucial to the international development of a region. When we decided to invest and develop in Liaoning, this was also a very important part of our attention. CISS not only has good facilities, high-level teachers and scientific programs, but more importantly, it integrates children from different countries and cultures. It is a high-quality international school that is truly in line with the international standards. Congratulations to CISS for being awarded as IB Continuum World School, which is great news for all foreign nationals working in Shenyang and their families. We will carry out more in-depth cooperation with CISS, and hope that CISS will have better development in the future and cultivate more outstanding talents meeting the development criteria of the future world.

Vice-Chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Committee of CPPCC and Chairman of the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee of China National Democratic Construction Association, Wu Xianhua and Mr. Norman, Honorary Principal of CISS, both sent congratulatory letters to the school. Wu Xianhua said in his letter, being awarded as IB continuum world school accreditation is an important step for CISS to grow and progress, also this is the first step. Dr. Francis Pang, Chairman of the Board of AKD Group and Chairman of the Board of CISS, introduced the school and IB programs to all the guests.
