On December 12, 2020, the annual "Christmas Market" event in Star Mall Shopping Center, located in Beierzhong Road, Tiexi District, Shenyang, is in full swing, filled with a festive atmosphere to welcome Christmas and New Year. Teachers and students from Canadian International School of Shenyang (CISS) came here again this year and presented a wonderful performance combining Chinese and Western styles to the audience.
This is the third time that CISS teachers and students have appeared on the stage of Star Mall. Performers in CISS uniforms performed many well-known Christmas songs. The diversity of singing, dancing and instrumental accompaniment by the teachers made the atmosphere particularly warm. Hundreds of spectators clustered around the stage couldn't help but follow the music, and their bodies swayed to the rhythm.
This performance, carefully planned by the teachers and students of CISS, is in various forms: instrument playing and singing full of Spanish style, classic Christmas choir and singing and dancing with vitality. In more than an hour, students of different ages successfully completed more than ten performances under the guidance of foreign teachers, which made CISS students’ image as global citizens more impressive and made the CISS flag stay in the hearts of the audience.
“Students can have such a wonderful performance because of the IB spirit of our school.” Madam. Duan Yun A, executive director of CISS said. CISS is currently the 34th in China and the first IB continuum world school in Liaoning Province. The goal of IB education is to train students to be inquiring, knowledgeable, caring and open-minded. To become an explorer, thinker, communicator, and challenger is the "IB attitude" advocated by IB programs. All current classroom teaching and extracurricular activities of CISS are based on IB's educational philosophy.
