Celebrating CIS Shenyang Acceptance as an IBO PYP/MYP Candidate School

June 5,2018.The Canadian International School of Shenyang today was  recognized for acceptance in the world  International Baccalaureate Organization(IBO) Primary Years and Middle Years Candidacy Programs which leads to acceptance as an IBO World School.

This is the first IBO Recognized school in Liaoning Province for the children of expats living in this province.

2018년 6월 5일，심양캐나다국제학교(CISS)가 인터네셔널 바칼로레아 (IBO) 초·중등항목에서 인가를 받았고, IBO국제학교로 선정되었다.이로서 요녕성 최초로 IBO인가 학교로서 요녕성 외국인 자녀들에게 교육서비스를 제공하게 되었다. 

Head of School, Principal Alan Norman said; “I am delighted to have CIS Shenyang be accepted into this global network of schools where students and teachers will actively engage in holistic learning and training that is transferable to a network of schools in countries around the globe! This is a huge accomplishment for International Education in Liaoning Province.”

Each of these IBO programs reflects a central desire of CIS Shenyang to provide an education that enables students to make sense of the complexities of the world around them, as well as equipping them with the skills and dispositions needed for taking responsible action for the future.

These IBO programs will provide an education that crosses disciplinary, cultural, national and geographical boundaries, and that champions critical engagement, stimulating ideas and effective relationships while also utilizing world class Canadian Curriculum.

이 국제 기구(IBO)의 계획 (학생들이 세계의 복잡성을 이해하고, 미래를 책임질수 있는 능력을 키워줄 수 있도록 가르치는것) 들은 심양 캐나다 국제학교에 잘 반영되어 있다.학교는 IBO프로그램으로 교과목, 문화, 국가와 지리 교육을 제공하고, 세계 일류의 캐나다 교육방식으로 비판적 사고 방식을 제창하여 학생들의 창조적인 사유를 이끌어 낸다.

In the Primary Years Program (PYP), grades K-5, learning aims to transcend traditional boundaries between subject areas.Students explore six transdisciplinary themes of global significance: who we are, where we are in place and time, how we express ourselves, how the world works, how we organize ourselves, and sharing the planet. 

초등교과과정(PYP)중, 유치원에서부터 5학년까지의 학습 목표는 과목의 전통적 경계를 넘는 것이다. 학생들은 6가지 문제를 탐구하게된다. : 우리는 누구인가, 어디에있는가. 자신을 어떻게 표현하는가, 세계는 어떻게 움직이는가, 자신을 어떻게 계획하는가, 이 지구를 어떻게 공유하는가. 

In the Middle Years Programme (MYP) Grades 6-10, students explore six global contexts that are developed from and extend the Primary Years Program.Transdisciplinary themes further to: identities and relationships, personal and cultural expression, orientation in space and time, scientific and technical innovation, fairness and development, and globalization and sustainability.

또한 중학6-10학년 교육과정 (MYP) 중, 학생들은 초등학교부터 이어져온 6가지 주제를 탐구하게 된다. 이에 더해 신분과 인간관계, 개인과 문화표현, 시공간의 위치, 과학기술혁신, 공평과 자아발전, 세계화와 지속가능한 개발 을 포함한 학과 주제가 준비되어있다. 

While CIS Shenyang is a new International School in Liaoning, this acceptance to such a prestigious organization as the IBO, is a confirmation that the school has demonstrated its ability to deliver very high quality International Education standards to students by teachers in approved facilities.

CIS Shenyang was created in a collaboration between the Government of Shenyang and Dr.Francis Pang of AKD International which has previously developed three Canadian International IBO World Schools in Beijing ,Hefei and Shenzhen , P.R.China.

심양캐나다국제학교는 갓 설립된 학교임에도 불구하고 IBO와 같은 국제기구의 교육 자격수여를 받는 높은 수준을 증명하였다.심양캐나다국제학교는 심양시정부와 캐나다황국국제교육그룹 이사장 펑젠화박사의 합작으로 설립되었다. 이 회사는 앞서 북경, 합비, 선전 세곳에 IBO 캐나다 국제학교를 운영하고 있다.
