CIS Shenyang Donates Student Art at ICS Charity Ball

On November 17 the Canadian International School of Shenyang partnered with the International Club of Shenyang to support Charity Organizations for blind and severely mentally and physically disabled children and youth.

Our Art Teacher and Principal were asked to select 6 pieces from the completed works of the older children to have framed and placed in the silent auction for bidding to raise money to support these charities and the 6 students were invited to attend the early evening of the event in appreciation for our schools contribution.

Their pictures sold for a total of 5440 RMB with one picture from Anna in Grade 6 sold to a German businessman for 1400 RMB.

At CIS Shenyang we feel it is important for our children to recognize the need for the advantaged to support the less advantaged in our society.

We recognize that all students cannot always participate in everything but the gift of charity is in the giving and all of our students gain high recognition that our school develops compassion for others in our teaching every day.

We have discussed with the directors of the International Club of Shenyang that we would like all of our student to support their charities this Christmas season, by taking "all of our students" to sing Christmas Carols and bring treats for the children.
